COVID-19: Firm Update

Dear Clients, Friends and Family,

These are unprecedented and fast changing times. What will not change, however, is our unfettering commitment to our clients, our amazing staff, and our communities. Safety and health always take precedence in all decisions and actions we take.

I write to you today to provide you with assurance of the precautions we are taking during this tumultuous time.

Our entire 3 offices around GTA and all of our lawyers remain fully operational and functional. We have immediately transitioned to a remote operation model.

Safety Takes Priority:

As the events quickly unfold, we have taken early and decisive action to transition our entire firm to a remote operation mode. Every employee of the firm has been successfully transitioned to remain fully operational off site, in the safety of their home.

We have also taken proactive steps to make sure that our work continues to be performed in a confidential and secure manner. It is our investment in our technology, emergency procedures, and HR policies which enabled us to execute this transition quickly and efficiently.

To maintain safety of our staff and clients and all visitors, all of our physical offices have closed.

We Remain fully Operational:

When we say we are fully operational, we mean it. Our phones, direct extensions, emails and faxes are accessible as before– nothing has changed. Furthermore, our response times remain unaffected.

The only thing that has changed in our operation is – physical presence –, for the safety of all of us and our communities.

Our team approach remains unbroken and our work spirits are high. Our teams continue to regularly communicate on our files through video conferencing and electronic means.

If you wish to schedule a video conference with any of our lawyers rather than a telephone call – we will send you an easy link for a ‘face to face’ e-meeting.

Keeping you informed:

As the situation unfolds we are committed to keep our clients informed on the potential impact it could have on their files.

The Ontario Courts, for instance, have currently suspended their operations, except for specified urgent matters.

In the meantime, our lawyers will continue to work with our clients to find solutions, and address matters in court that fit the appropriate criteria.

If you have questions or an immediate issue which needs to be addressed, please reach out to our office and our lawyers will help.

As the pandemic progresses, our organization will continue to stand ready to adjust to any changes. Please monitor our website and follow us on social media for updates.

For any questions, please call us at (416) 661-2777 or email info@shulman.ca.

Thank you!
