Fall is Here! Let the Giving Begin!

As I woke up this morning to the chilly weather, I couldn’t help but smile. Yes, you read that last line right, I said, “smile”. While many people sit and wait most of the year in anticipation of summer, I’m one of those rare individuals who anxiously awaits the fall and winter months, and I’ll tell you why: as the season shifts from summer to fall, we begin to reflect on the important things in life as Thanksgiving and Christmas draw near. Summer is a lovely season for having fun in the sun, but fall is the beginning of a very giving time of the year.

To welcome fall and all that it represents, we have started our annual Fall Food Drive. For the past two years we have been delighted at the levels of participation and enthusiasm among our employees and the community, which have allowed us to donate over 300 pounds of food each year! Our food drives are run in collaboration with North York Harvest Food Bank, ensuring that all of your donated goodies are redistributed right back into the local community, to those who need it most.

As of today we will begin collecting non-perishable food items at both of our office locations, continuing collection efforts until the date of Friday, October 30th. For more information on how you can contribute, feel free to phone our office at 416-661-2777, or send me an e-mail at jessica.hall@shulman.ca and include ‘Food Drive 2015’ in the subject line.
