Walt Disney World® Resort is not just a theme park. It’s an experience, a place created specifically to make magic come to life. And for Sisi, Walt Disney World was truly a magical experience.
We were introduced to Sisi through Make-A-Wish Toronto & Central Ontario® in February of 2016. We learned that Sisi, who was only three at the time, was fighting to beat Rhabdomyosarcoma, a life-threatening medical condition, but her warm, loving spirit remained strong.

Sisi’s wish was to go Walt Disney World® Resort with her brother and sister to meet her favourite Disney princesses, including Rapunzel and Cinderella. She idolized Rapunzel for her kind heart and her long hair (Sisi had lost hers during her treatment).
Our mission was to ensure Sisi’s wish came true, and together through bake sales, casual Fridays and corporate events, we collected $10,000 in less than a year. Sisi and her family got to spend a special holiday in Florida, and while we could explain how meaningful the trip was to her, the photos below do a much better job of telling the story.
Sisi and her family were so delighted to be able to go on this special adventure. With her two siblings, both with their own challenging medical conditions, travel without a Make-A-Wish wish would have been extremely difficult. Sisi and her family got to stay at the exclusive Give Kids the World Resort where Sisi ate all the ice cream she could manage, attended parties, sang ‘Let It Go’ at the resort’s talent night, and swam in the pool. Oh, and she had an opportunity to meet many of her other favourite Disney friends, including Rapunzel.
Of this experience, Sisi’s mom Galit shared, “we will never forget this week where we got to be free of cares and worries, and could experience joy together.”
As a family law firm, we’ve seen children and families go through truculent experiences, and so it is important to us that we find ways to help build strong families wherever we can. We thought that becoming involved with Make-A-Wish was an excellent way to make a positive difference for a child, but we didn’t truly understand how much of an impact that child would have on us.
We look forward to working with Make-A-Wish this year to help make another child’s wish come true, and we wish Sisi and her family the very best!
