Alana Guy

Alana is a Senior Associate Lawyer with Shulman & Partners LLP, practicing out of the firm's Ottawa office. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019, and her practice focuses primarily on family law and estate litigation, with experience as well in broader civil litigation.

Alana obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2018, completing the school's French Common Law program and serving as a member of the Italian Law Students Organization. She also completed a January term course at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Prior to joining Shulman & Partners, Alana practiced at several other firms gaining experience across estates, family law, and construction law matters. She has also worked with a boutique firm in Chile giving her exposure to private international law.

Alana has a genuine passion for litigation and is driven to help her clients resolve their matters as quickly and amicably as possible by employing a settlement-focused approach whenever possible. She uses tact and strategy to achieve the best results for her clients, while remaining prepared to advocate firmly for them in court when a matter calls for it.

Originally from Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Alana has called Ottawa home since law school. In addition to French and English, she is fluent in Spanish and Italian. Alana is an active member of the local legal community, participating in the County of Carleton Law Association's New Lawyers and Legal Professionals Committee and volunteering with l'Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Ontario (AJEFO).
