Can I claim money after divorce?

Often, but of course it depends. By “money” you are likely referring to “support”, which can be either spousal support (for yourself), or else child support (for any children that you and your former spouse may have together). In either case, the amount of the support you might be entitled to receive will depend on a very large number of factors that are tied to your specific situation, including how much both you and your former spouse are earning.

However, for spousal support, you can obtain some rough guidance from the federal Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines, which – while not mandatory for judges to apply – are instructive as to how much you might receive from your former partner.  Likewise, for child support after a divorce, you can look to the federal Child Support Guidelines for the same kind of guidance as to the amount you might receive.
