Ekroop Sekhon obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University before law school. She attended her first year of law school at the University of Saskatchewan and then transferred to the University of Windsor to complete her studies and obtain her Juris Doctor. She was called to the Bar in 2022 in Toronto.

Ekroop spent a summer during law school working at CLASSIC, a legal clinic in Saskatoon, where she worked on a variety of files including immigration, criminal, human rights, and Indigenous legal matters. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada working on a family law project.

After graduation, Ekroop articled at a leading estate litigation firm in downtown Toronto before joining Shulman and Partners LLP. Her articling experience gave her exposure in navigating difficult family relationships and allowed her to gain extra sensitivity in handling files as clients go through difficult times in their lives.
