What’s the value of a family law consultation at Shulman & Partners LLP?

In our firm we approach the initial consultation in a unique way, which many clients find surprising. Here are some ways in which our consultations are different:

We do not try to sell or expect you to retain.

The purpose of our meeting is to understand your problem and discuss potential solutions. We try to find out the facts about your case and help you see the potential consequences you may face under the law. After the consultation, we hope that the client walks away confident, less stressed, and more informed about their case.

We will not accept every case.

People going through a divorce really want to find somebody in law that they can trust. We are brutally honest and direct on what we think your chances are. If we think your chances are slim, we will tell you that. If we think your case is worth pursuing, we will tell you that as well. It is important to understand that this is not a sales pitch, we truthfully want to provide useful information and discuss potential solutions.

We are not very strict with our time.

Our consultations are dedicated solely to helping those going through a divorce become more informed about their case.  If we need more time to understand your situation in order to help you, then we will take the time. And because we are specialized and have a focus in the area of family law, we don’t skip the details.

We are thorough.

Our initial consult is not a ‘meet and greet’. We will discuss your matter, analyze your case and discuss steps moving forward. We will not refuse to look at relevant documents, which we need to understand your case, and ask that you bring them with you for the meeting. We ask clients to bring with them any documents and information which we feel we need to understand your matter and assist you as best as we can. If you are well prepared for the meeting, you will allow us to provide you with very valuable information that will enable you to make the best decision for your situation. And of course, all documents and conversations are kept confidential.

We keep our meetings practical.

We speak in simple terms and explain the process in a practical way. We focus on the solution you need and how best to get you same. We encourage you to write down your questions in advance, as it will allow you to make sure all your concerns are addressed.

At the end of the day, the purpose of the meeting is to ensure that you are well informed about your legal options. Family law & divorce can get very complicated, and the more you know, the better your chances of achieving your goal and doing what is right for you. We want to provide you a chance to talk about your situation in order to make informed decisions moving forwards.
